Your Call case study: Little Harwood residents

Ward: Little Harwood

Problem: Suspected dog fighting in the area

What happened? Residents got behind a pair of events promoting responsible dog ownership

Little Harwood residents have become the latest group of local people to ‘answer the call’ after getting behind a pair of events promoting responsible dog ownership.

Concerns were raised at a previous Little Harwood residents’ ward solution meeting about suspected dog fighting in the area and many were left disgusted when a bag of four dead dogs was found in a back alley.

Two events were held in September and October at Robinson Street play area and Corporation Park offering free dog MOTs, micro chipping, dog waste bags and advice on responsible dog ownership.

The events proved very popular with over 45 dogs getting chipped over the two dates, from small puppies to large bull mastiffs.

All of the residents had the opportunity to talk to a local vet and ask questions regarding their dog’s health and behaviour.
